Awards through the Years

Over the 45 years since its creation in 1972, Nature’s Sunshine has been consistently recognized for the quality of its products, the strength of its leadership, and the integrity of its business practices and practitioners. As a company working to promote the health and wellbeing of people throughout the world, we couldn’t be happier that outside sources have noticed our commitment to excellence.

Just for fun, we thought we would celebrate and remember some of the awards Nature’s Sunshine has garnered over the decades in the month of June.

June 1996: Best Small Businesses, by Forbes

Forbes tags itself as “a leading source for reliable business news and financial information,” and, indeed, their reputation as the final word in business news and financial information supports their claim.

In 1996, Forbes Magazine ranked Nature’s Sunshine 56th on their list of Best Small Companies. We happen to think it’s still the best company, even if we have grown significantly since then!

June 1998: Kristine Hughes Awarded Entrepreneur of the Year, by Ernst and Young

Kristine Hughes, co-founder of Nature’s Sunshine, was Chairman of the Board for Nature’s Sunshine Products in 1998, when the multinational professional services company of Ernst & Young (now EY), tapped Hughes as the winner of their Entrepreneur of the Year recipient.

EY chooses its award recipients based on their ability to lead the “world’s most enduring companies” in revenue growth, job creation, and longevity.

June 2002: Supplement Manufacturer of the Year, by Nutritional Outlook Magazine

Nutritional Outlook Magazine took notice of our dedication to using only the best quality ingredients in all of our products, making special mention of both our Research and Development and Quality Assurance departments.

Nutritional Outlook, itself an award-winning publication, enjoys massive readership as “the manufacturer’s resource for dietary supplements and healthy foods and beverages.”

June 2013: America’s 100 Most Trustworthy Companies, by Forbes

Forbes once again gave a big nod to Nature’s Sunshine in 2013, placing us on their Most Trusted Companies list for the country. Nature’s Sunshine was the only direct marketing company on the list!

This award is based on the level of transparency and trustworthiness of companies on the American trade exchanges.

2008-Present: American’s Healthiest Companies, by Interactive Health

Nature’s Sunshine is committed to the health of our customers as well as the health of our employees and distributors. We run a number of health programs to encourage employees to create and maintain healthy habits. Through the company’s Sunshine Steps Wellness Program, Nature’s Sunshine offers gym membership reimbursements, fun run, and other activities – employees have plenty of opportunities to move more and get healthier. We’ve seen employees improve their blood cholesterol, reduce blood sugar, and improve blood glucose levels, which are key indicators of health.

For the last nine years, Interactive Health, a company that helps other companies improve their employees’ health, has recognized our efforts in this regard.

While we love the fact that others are recognizing our efforts to maintain Nature’s Sunshine as one of the best companies to work for and with, Nature’s Sunshine will never compromise on the quality of our products or our commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of our customers, distributors, and employees.

We’re honored by our past and the recognition we’ve received. The same principles that led to these awards over the years are driving what we’re doing today, and we’re excited to see who else will recognize us in the future!

Don't just take our word for it
